APAP

De Association of Psychologists and Allied Professionals of St. Maarten is in 2016 opgericht om: de beoefening en professionele ontwikkeling van de psychologie en aanverwante vakgebieden te bevorderen en de maatschappelijke en beroepsbelangen van psychologen en aanverwante beroepsbeoefenaren op Sint Maarten (Nederlandse zijde) te behartigen.

Kort na de orkaan en in het nieuwe jaar werd door APAP een Public Service Announcement (PSA) opgenomen. Ons doel was om de gemeenschap op St. Maarten tijdens het herstelproces te informeren om goed voor zichzelf te zorgen. Bewustwording van de psychologische effecten van het verkeren in deze situatie is naar onze mening het startpunt om psychische problemen waar mogelijk te kunnen voorkomen. 

The Association of Psychologists and Allied Professionals of St. Maarten has been established in 2016 to: promote the practice and professional development of psychology and related fields and to serve social and professional interests of psychologists and related professions on Sint Maarten (Dutch side).

Shortly after the hurricane and in the new year a Public Service Announcement (PSA) was recorded by APAP. Our goal was to inform the community on St. Maarten during the recovery process to take good care of themselves. Awareness of the psychological effects of being in this situation is the start point in our opinion to be able to prevent psychological problems where possible.
